Conflict happens; it’s part and parcel of the human condition. But how good are we at actually approaching the issues and dealing with them in a manner that promotes peace and healing? Tom Ives discusses the issue. In this teaching, students will discover the various ways in which people approach conflict, and which ones are live-giving or not. They are given guidelines for how to deal with issues (or when to just let them go), all in the name of making peace and honoring God’s call to love one another.
Session Objectives
• Understand that conflict happens in any situation–it can’t be fully avoided
• Teach students right and wrong ways of dealing with conflict
• Encourage students to recognize where conflict has taken hold in their lives
• Look at God-honoring guidelines for seeking resolution and reconciliation
Tom Ives
Tom is the Director of Royal Servants, husband to a loving wife Melia (who also serves with Reign Ministries), father of two beautiful children, and a grandpa! Prior to Reign Ministries, Tom did a little of everything: sold diamonds, waited tables at a 4-star restaurant in Scotland, hitchhiked across the USA and Europe, and lived on a Kibbutz (communal farm) in Israel. He had no interest in missions or teenagers until He went on Royal Servants in 1983. That summer God rocked his world, changed his heart, and readjusted his priorities. Tom joined right after and has been leading missions teams each year since!
