I came to Speaking Blitz with a lot of ideas about what it would be like, and how well it would go. I was excited for Blitz, true, but I wasnt certain that it would be… fruitful. Whatever my hopes were about the kids, I couldnʼt quite hold onto an optimism about the whole affair. [...] Read more »

The photo you see is that of the kindly couple (Suzanne & Rod) who lent us their house for a group meeting on January 16, and who hosted the boys for the first two nights, proudly holding their bowl of cherries, one of the many snacks they offered us. I was really excited about them [...] Read more »
The sky’s the limit? No, the sky is limitless!

What a day! Travel days with Reign Ministries are always adventurous, and this one was no exception: internally, that is. True, and thankfully, there were no dramatic car explosions, almost-missed train connections, deathly illnesses, or extreme weather conditions to battle, but man was our trip exciting! It started well, with a beautiful sunrise and surprise [...] Read more »

Man. Speaking Blitz starts tomorrow. Looking back over the past three months, it’s pretty hard to believe that we’ve come this far. I still remember orientation back in October, and thinking that I was quite in over my head at the prospect of going out and speaking in front of masses of students. And I’m [...] Read more »
Another Day Gone

As each day passes, the arrival of Speaking Blitz looms closer. This morning was spent practicing full run-throughs with a minimal of technical difficulties, being briefed on our finances, cutting Kairos Discipleship School brochures out (we did over 80 in 2 hours! we’re getting better at this) and enjoying our last day together. We also [...] Read more »

November 10-12 was Kairos Discipleship School’s first ever Mens/Womens Retreat! We split up the genders in order to feel more comfortable being vulnerable. Both groups were able to really dig into some issues. It ended up being even better than the staff had planned. The ladies had some fun activities that included playing a football [...] Read more »

Ollie Olson joined us this week at Kairos Discipleship School. Our goal in bringing Ollie to teach is to give the students a new desire to know God’s word inside and out. This man knows the Bible forwards and backwards. He truly inspires us to really desire to know God intimately, not only through personal [...] Read more »

Over the past month our students have had many opportunities to put into practice the things that they have been learning about leadership. Our Kansas City Outreach, wilderness trip to the Boundary Waters, and internship at the Reign Ministries office were all a huge success! It was stretching for many of our students to get [...] Read more »
