Ashlyn was on the EuroQuest mission trip in the summer of 2011. This is what she would like to share about what she learned this summer.

This trip has been amazing for me and my walk with Christ. Every day I’m learning something new about myself and God, and He’s using that to help me grow stronger in Him. The thing I have been learning the most is to lean on God in all situations. The first few days of training camp were pretty hard for me. I was homesick, missing my family, and totally out of my comfort zone. But God pulled me through and as I started getting to know the team and making new friends my homesickness started to fade away. I’ve also had to lean a lot on God when we’re telling others about Him.

The first day in Brugge, I was really nervous. I wasn’t nervous about going up and starting conversations with people, but what I would say when I got there. God has really helped me to trust Him to give me the words to say and to rely on His power, not my own. Now when I go up to someone, I feel excited to see what God is going to do with this conversation and how He’s going to plant seeds in other’s hearts. I’m so excited to apply the lessons I’m learning here to my daily life at home! I tend to worry about things instead of trusting that God has a plan and a purpose for everything. I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for me this summer and pray that He will keep helping me trust Him in all situations.
