Megan was part of the Kairos Discipleship School Class of 2011. When Megan was first asked what her first thoughts were, about coming to Kairos, and how did it this experience shape her.

I didn’t know what to expect. I had heard personal stories from alumni and what I gathered from the brochures and website, but the final statement always seemed the same: “You just got to experience it for yourself.” All I knew was that Kairos was the place God called me to for the next 10 months of my life, to begin with Him and really understand fully who I claimed to be following.

The first semester began the year by digging deep into our understanding of fundamental characteristics of both God and ourselves. From multiple teachings, books, and discussions, I began to reform my perspective on who I believed God was and who he created me to be. With the change in my view point everything about my relationship with God shifted, from obligation and guilt to a desire for a deeper relationship with the one who valued the most. Understanding the nature of God’s heart refreshed my excitement for following Him. The more I understood about Him, the more I understood about life and how He viewed me.

I am excited for what He has for me after Kairos and to live out what Ive learned from these past few months. I am so grateful that God chose me to take 10 months of my life to specifically learn about Him. I don’t know what my life would have been without doing Kairos. But now I am prepared for a life led by God and I’m all in for the adventure He has for me.
