Open House is our chance to share Training Camp with you!

Join us and walk through a typical day at camp. You will experience a bit of Royal Servants life as you connect with your son, daughter, family, or friend, meet the incredible team they will be serving with this summer, share an evening meal with us, and end with an opportunity to worship together under the “Big Top!”

Important! Students will not be able to leave Training Camp during Open House. While this might be disappointing, we believe this to be the best policy for our team building and safety. Thank you for your understanding.

Connecting With Your Student

As you can imagine, each day at Training Camp is critical to the preparation and development of the students. Each and every part of Training Camp is designed to help your student prepare to serve the Lord overseas with excellence. From the day he or she arrives on the hilltop, to the time we pack up the last tent, we strive to spiritually and emotionally equip each participant for their summer of service.

When you arrive for Open House, you’ll be entering into the regular daily schedule of Royal Servants Training Camp. Therefore, you will not be able to immediately spend time with your son, daughter, family member, or friend.

Please look at the schedule and note the time for personal visiting, which is not scheduled until after skill group training has been completed. We will also have time for you to join in with the team and experience a bit of their daily schedule.

Great treats to bring: Brownies, Rice Krispie treats, or cookies are great, and you can bring enough to share with the team if you want. Refrigeration is not available at Training Camp.

Packing For Open House

Training Camp is a rustic environment. Our tent site is located on a mowed hayfield adjacent to Living Springs Bible camp.

Here are a few packing tips:

• Check the weather ahead of time at camp!
• Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
• Rain or shine, we are outdoors so plan for all weather: sunscreen, umbrella, and bug spray. We typically experience high heat and humidity.
• Seating is limited. If you have space, we recommend packing a lawn chair.
• Snacks for little ones and drinks.
• We only have porto-potties available on site. Remember to bring hand sanitizer.
• The ground is very uneven & may be difficult for wheelchairs or people with limited mobility.

If you have any diet restrictions, plan to provide your own food.

Please do not bring the following items for your students: I-pod or similar music devices, cell phone, extra money or credit cards, anything not listed on the packing list.

A Note From The Director

When you arrive at Training Camp, your eyes will be drawn to a simple hilltop, perfectly straight lines of tents, and students walking in groups of threes. We are inviting you into this environment to allow you to taste and experience it for yourself.

Each day we intentionally engage in specific activities that encourage students to stretch new physical and spiritual muscles. And it is also our desire to share the philosophy and design “behind the scenes” as we walk you through Training Camp. We have planned special time for you to hang out with your Royal Servant and meet their teammates.

The development of Open House over the last two years is a significant change from the past, which was a simple commissioning service in Chicago, IL. We have now restructured this time to give pastors, parents, and relatives a peek into the exciting new journey each student has begun.
