Trip Leaders & Staff

On each Royal Servants mission trip, we have several staff who share in the care and responsibility of our students. Quality staff are the way we ensure a quality experience in student’s lives. On our trips, our staff are organized as follows:

1. Trip Leaders

  • All of our trip leaders are, or have been, full-time Reign Ministries’ staff.
  • They are not merely summer volunteers.
  • They must be over the age of 24.
  • They must have a minimum of five years youth ministry and/or mission experience.
  • They are mission trip professionals who are dedicated capable mature responsible and focused.
  • Our leaders average more than 10 years youth ministry experience!
  • They are dedicated to students ages 13 to 24.
  • They possess knowledge of youth culture.

Leader Preparation

To prepare for this role, each of our trip leaders:

  • Experiences at least one Royal Servants summer mission trip before leading.
  • Is thoroughly scrutinized before leading and receives additional training as necessary.
  • Is intensively trained to create a healthy balance of discipline and fun.
  • Knows how to lovingly enforce the guidelines while being sensitive to individuals needs.

The result: students impacted by God and a world impacted through students.

Someone once said “The success of a short-term missions experience will depend on the leadership.” We know that trip leaders set the tone for their teams.  They are living breathing models teachers counselors and mentors to students who need a solid example of godliness lived out in our culture.  Our trip leaders have a profound impact in the life of each student.  We know this and therefore ensure only the best lead Royal Servants mission trips.

2. Sr. Staff

Each trip leader is assisted by at least one, and most often multiple, Sr. staff member.  Sr. staff play critical logistical roles, freeing the trip leader to coordinate the discipleship training and growth as well as the practical needs of the students.  Almost always, one of these Sr. staff is the opposite gender of the trip leader so both male and female needs can be best addressed.  Sr. staff is always made up of other Reign Ministries staff members or highly qualified youth professionals with whom our ministry has a solid trusting relationship.  Sr. staff is not simply individuals who sign up to go on mission trips.

3. Staff Disciplers

On a Royal Servants mission trip, qualified college-age students can serve as staff disciplers.  Staff discplers  are grouped with three to five other students of the same gender to form a discipleship group (d-group).  Staff discplers are trained to equip, encourage, and challenge each student to deeper levels with Christ.  They are people God uses to shape and change each life.
