Mission Trip Expenses

Airfare & Ground Fees

Airfare and ground fees cover your transportation, housing, food, and all expenses associated with the trip.  There are a few exceptions (see Spending Money below).  Your trip begins once you arrive at one of our meeting locations and ends when you arrive at O’Hare on the trip home.

Expenses before you arrive at one of our meeting locations and after you return to O’Hare on the trip home are your responsibility.

Spending Money

• You will be required to provide a pre-determined amount of spending money for your mission trip.
• Spending money is money available to you during your trip to meet your special needs.
• It is a predetermined amount—you may not have more or less, and all participants on your team have the same amount.
• Each team has a different spending money requirement, which is determined by the length of your trip and the country(s) you visit.
• Spending money must be sent to Reign Ministries before the trip and it will be distributed during the trip.

Credit cards or travelers checks are not permitted.  Extra money cannot be sent to you except in the case of medical needs.

Each mission trip’s leadership will bring your spending money and dispense it as you request when overseas.  You will have an account sheet in the back of your mission trip manual so you can keep track of the money you withdraw.

You may use your spending money to buy small souvenirs for family friends and donors.  You might also enjoy buying local food and snacks.  However there may be occasional instances overseas where you will need to use your spending money for a meal.

A portion of your spending money is reserved for special uses.  Depending on your mission trip we will reserve $15 to $35 for culture & heritage outings such as museums historic sites and tours.  We match this amount with money from the mission trip budget.  We also reserve $20 for the trip home for food and incidentals.  Any unused spending money will be distributed to you at the end of the mission trip.

Preparation Expenses

In many cases the airfare, ground fees, and spending money contributions requirements published for your trip will cover all your mission trip needs.  However most participants experience some additional expenses as they prepare for their mission trip depending on their circumstances. For an explanation of these expenses click here.
