The Scotland team arrived back in the USA today and the last of the team will be flying home from Chicago tonight. Here was their final update:

“The last three days have been a whirlwind of debriefing, site seeing in London and D-Group day. We are packed up, had a beautiful commissioning time and now the students are sleeping recharging for a 4am wake-up to head home. Lots of tears tonight but joyful planning of what God has ahead for them. Scotland Team 2018…it has been amazing!”

The Scotland Team finished up our ministry time in wonderful Dunoon, had a beautiful day at the Highland Games in Inverary. We said our goodbyes (group hugs), and then this morning took the ferry across the Firth of Clyde. We are now on our way to London for three days of debriefing to process all the amazing things God did this summer and how we are going to take that home and live it out to others.

But first, a little Narnia for the drive. We have been reading a chapter a night from The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Last night we finished it out and are enjoying our long drive watching the movie.

Pray for our team as we reflect back and look forward. Also be praying for all the Scottish people we built friendships with and shared our love of Jesus with.

Scotland Update

by Margaret Andrus

Our last two days of ministry have been filled with basketball games, VBS, prayer walks asking people if they could pray for them (some people didn’t even know what that meant) a cultural meal of fish and chips, D-group time in coffee shops, and a big picnic at the park with all the kids. As our students learn the stories of the kids here in Dunoon, we are often overwhelmed by the emptiness and lack of hope. Dunoon/Scotland needs Jesus and maybe even a revival. So many of the pastors have left this area and their churches. Many churches have turned into coffee shops or cafes.

We hope that any joy and friendships that have been planted here will keep growing even when we leave. God’s word and message has been lived out here in Scotland through the boldness of this team. It is an honor to watch them pour it all out even in their tiredness.

Today our team will be splitting up to attend several churches in Dunoon. Some students will be sharing about what they have learned this summer and the things God did. Then in the evening, all the churches will gather here at Dunoon Baptist church to have church all together lead by our team in worship and sharing. Can’t wait!

For the Scotland Family,
Jennah

Scotland Update

by Margaret Andrus

We have had packed days of ministry here in Dunoon. Most of the beautiful churches here have been turned into cafes and most of the pastors have left.

Our goal here has been to have many events that all ages would want to come to. We had VBS, game times and an adult quiz activity that all went really well. For a place that wants nothing to do with God or church, these have been amazing opportunities and our students have shared with such boldness.

Check out the pics for glimpses of some of our activities, food we eat, grocery shopping adventures, d-group times and some beautiful churches.

Scotland Update

After leaving Drumchapel, we had a beautiful stop in Loch Lomond where Jake baptized Levi (our son). What a beautiful time. The rest of the team jumped in the water to cool off as well.

We made a stop at Rest and Be Thankful to enjoy hiking around the Scottish Highlands before heading on to Dunoon. We will share more about this little town later in the week, but for now you can see our schedule to be praying for us and the Scottish kids as well. We also got some great pictures from our first full day of ministry here.

For the Scotland Family,
Jennah
Bonus: Watch the Scottish Tray Game!

Scotland team had a great day loving on the Drumchapel community. Kids club taught on the love of Jesus for the whole world through skits, stories crafts, and all the skill groups. We even had a wild game of which team could get the most cheese puffs to stick to the shaving cream faces. In the evening we played games with the youth group and had a barbecue hang out time. We have so enjoyed getting to know the kids and youth in this community. Pray that as we finish our final day of ministry here, we would have opportunities, open hearts and boldness to share Jesus with Drumchapel. We sure love them already!
