Supporting Long-Term Workers and Sharing Truth in Morocco

Wow, I can’t believe we’ve passed our first week in Morocco already! The days have flown by, and we’ve settled into this beautiful city. Long walks, hailing taxis, grabbing shawarma on the way to the next thing, navigating confusing streets, and trying to communicate through some combination of Arabic, French, Spanish, and English are all becoming routine for the students.

New outreach opportunities are rising for us that are very exciting and confirm why we are here. For example, we’ve launched a VBS program. It will run every other morning for the next two weeks, specifically for long-term “workers” and their children here. In an isolating place, and after a long isolating year and a half here, this is unheard of and much-needed reprieve for these families and their kiddos. “Workers” are going on their first dates or attending events with their spouses, which they haven’t been able to do in over a year. What an opportunity for us to serve!

Our students have also been out on the streets, in malls, and other central places sharing the "truth" and establishing relationships. They’ve covered miles of the street in prayer walking, prayed over people around the city, delivered lunch and meaningful conversation to the homeless population, and the list goes on.

And we’re having fun too. Today we went shopping in the famous Medina here and hit the beach just outside town over the weekend.

I see these students' hearts growing more every day. They are learning to love the people here, not just in a warm fuzzy way, but deeply and achingly, wanting the people they meet to have the same hope of salvation in Christ that they do.

Keep praying for the people we meet and the conversations we are having!
