Sarajevo Streets

Luke 12:11,12 “And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

Eastern Europe is a beautiful country of turquoise blue water, red roofed houses, busy city streets, and picturesque mountain towns. The thing it has in common with any other place you’ve been is that it is also filled with people who need to encounter the love of Jesus. The Europe team has spent the past 5 days in Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia & Herzegovina sharing the gospel with those who have been drawn to our street performances.

Our consistent prayer since Training Camp has been that the presence of the LORD would go before us, preparing the places we will be visiting and creating fertile soil for the seeds of the gospel. It has been amazing to watch our students boldly stepping out in faith to engage the crowds in purposeful conversation, yes, sharing the hope we have in Christ, but also listening and loving those they are speaking with.

It is that love, the perfect love ofJesus, that individuals are responding to. The conversations have been as varied as the people, most of whom have been Muslim, and the name of Jesus is being declared in every encounter. We may not know the fruit these seeds will eventually bear, but we do know that our students are learning to lean in toHoly Spirit’s leading and trust him to speak through them. I can’t wait for them to bring back their stories of bearing witness to the goodness of God!

We head now to Albania where we shift our focus to children’s ministry for the week. Pray for continued fertile soil in which to spread the seeds of Jesus’ love.
