A Team Full Of Talent

Wow, the Morocco team hit the ground running from the moment we got here. We jumped into orientation and went out for a strategic scavenger hunt out in the city on day one, which gave the students their first real exposure to the community and how to function here. They hopped in “petit taxis,” met locals, tried some local delicacies like snails and macaroons, and embraced the complex and beautiful culture of this Arab/African/Mediterranean/European region.

Persons Of Peace

Our training has included passages like Luke 10, learning to focus on “persons of peace,” those who are genuinely open and interested in hearing the message we have to share. In these first two days of outreach, we have already encountered some really amazing people, had some powerful conversations, prayed over people, and made plans to reconnect with those new “contacts.” The students have been expressing quite a bit how amazed they are by people’s hospitality and how welcomed they are.

Grateful For Their Giftedness

I have loved bearing witness to seeing how each student has leaned into their gifts and passions instinctively. Caleb is a big brother to everyone on the team, Hannah enthusiastically rallies everyone to stop and pray at every chance, Viola is our relentlessly positive encourager, Tommy is our tender-hearted worship leader, Ava always has big ideas no one else has thought of, Abigail and her sense of empathy like a lighthouse calling people to safety. That list stretches to everyone on the team. Praise God for how he has been growing these students already and equipping them to minister and live in unique and powerful ways.

We thank you for praying for our team and ask that you continue to lift us up. We are going to experiment with some new outreach ideas this weekend and would love for you to pray over those efforts and what we learn from them.

I’m working this morning on getting the team to an open Internet cafe, so for those parents eagerly awaiting to hear from their kids, know that we hope to get you in touch soon.

Gratefully,

Job and the Morocco team
