You’ve seen them, watched them wander back from the daily showers or tool around in the pickup truck, but what do they really do? As a member of the Barnabas team, you will help facilitate the smooth operation of Royal Servants Training Camp. Barney, as it’s affectionately called, is not a place to get away from home for a few weeks or a convenient location for a reunion, but it is a place where you will get a bit hot and sweaty and where your servanthood gifts will be used and appreciated!

The cost of the Barnabas Team is $125.00. This covers food, a deluxe tent, transportation, and a Royal Servants T-shirt. We suggest that you bring an additional $20-$25 per week for spending money. This will cover your laundry costs (at a laundromat), and any "necessities" from Wal-Mart and Culvers.

safety

When you arrange your flights, you need to fly into Chicago O'Hare by 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 17th.  If arriving directly to Training Camp, please arrive on Saturday, June 17th between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.  When booking your return flight, you need to fly home on July 3rd after 3:00 pm. Whether you drive or fly, mail in the domestic travel plans so we can make sure there is someone ready to meet you when you arrive.

adventure

adventure

To be on the Barnabas team, you have to have previously been a participant on a Royal Servants trip. We are also looking for a person who has a servant’s heart, possesses a positive attitude, and is willing to be a model for new students on the field (like going everywhere in 3's!)

experience culture

experience culture

The Barnabas team is about doing the tasks behind the scenes that don’t get a lot of glory (not many warm fuzzies for mowing the grass) but that are essential to help Training Camp run smoothly. Whether you are busy or not, doing hard (or boring) work, you’ll need to approach it all with willingness and enthusiasm. However, there are some perks… ice cream run, anyone?

spiritual growth

Besides assisting at Training Camp, Barnabas will also focus on small group interaction. We want our team to be more than a work crew, but rather a tight-knit team, focused on giving glory to the Lord through all that is done. You’ll be a part of our corporate worship time, some of the group teachings, and you’ll have daily quiet times specific for your team and experience.

who should go

You can expect to do a number of jobs – from organizing the barn, daily cleaning, making dumpster runs, putting together the obstacle course, setting up tents, and working in the admin building – anything and everything that will serve Training Camp and help it run efficiently.
